Overview
JOB FUNCTION:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to oversee the general upkeep, repairs, and facility operations across multiple company locations. This position requires regular travel to sites to ensure all properties are safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and capable of managing contractors, vendors, and onsite facility needs with minimal supervision.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical.
- Conduct regular inspections of company properties to assess facility needs and prioritize repairs or upgrades.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance work or renovations.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues across all properties.
- Manage facility-related work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and equipment logs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
- Maintain grounds, lighting, signage, and other exterior areas as needed.
- Provide input on long-term facility planning and budgeting for repairs, improvements, and capital projects.
- Monitor and manage supply inventory, tools, and maintenance-related purchases.
- Travel regularly to company locations, sometimes on short notice, including overnight stays as necessary.
- Experience managing external contractors and vendors.
- Familiarity with commercial or industrial properties.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and technical documents.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently (up to 25%) as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade certification a plus.
- 5+ years of facility or property maintenance experience, preferably in a multi-site environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, climb, bend, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Comfortable working on ladders, roofs, or confined spaces as necessary.
