Job SummaryProvides direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Essential Functions- Patient Populations Served:
Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult. - Protected Health Information Accessed:
Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record. - Exposure:
Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is present for all employees. - Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
Applicants should have a current state RN license or a current multistate compact license and possess an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
Additional Requirements- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (or) obtained within 90 days after hire date.
- Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification (or) obtained within 6 months after hire date.
- Current American Heart Association PALS Certification (or) obtained within 6 months after hire date.
- Handle with Care preferred
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Language
Skills:
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- 8 ICU bed, 4 progressive care beds
- Takes all neuro surgery and neurology patients, but also admits other diagnosis.
