Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is a 295‑bed hospital in Somerset, Kentucky, and part of Lifepoint Health—a diversified healthcare delivery network committed to making communities healthier.

Overview

We’re seeking a dedicated RN for our Float Pool to provide full‑time night care (12‑hour shifts) with a weekend requirement. This role offers a $20,000 commitment‑incentive bonus for nights, a supportive environment, and opportunities for career advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
  • Perform House Supervisor responsibilities when needed to meet facility needs.
  • Delegate and coordinate nursing care across the hospital and ensure quality delivery.
  • Administer medications, collect specimens, and conduct clinical treatments.
  • Document patient care and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, and referrals.
  • Provide patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
  • Advocate for physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
  • Determine, coordinate, and supervise daily staffing assignments and levels.
  • Provide orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
  • Assist with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Assess quality of services and facilitate staff development programs.
  • Perform staff responsibilities as needed to meet service levels.
  • Lead resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Current state RN license or multistate compact license.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • 2 years acute‑care nursing experience required.
  • Certifications:

    BCLS; ACLS, PALS & NIHSS within 90 days of hire.
  • Pass an arrhythmia exam within 90 days of hire.
  • Critical‑thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
