JOB GOAL:
To work with an individual student with special needs.

• Works with an elementary student with special needs and supports her/him in instructional and non-instructional settings, using as directed by the special education teacher.
• Reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
• Communicate with general education teachers any special information they need to know.
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about the student as is expected of a fully licensed teacher.
• Perform related duties as directed by the building principal and/or the Director of Special Education.

• QUALIFICATIONS:
  
  AS Degree or 48 Undergraduate Credit hours or Passing grade on the Para Pro or other State Assessment for Paraprofessionals
• Background in Special Education preferred or willingness to participate in training
• Experience working with students with emotional and learning needs
• Pre-K and ASD Experience/Safety care ASD

  In accordance with the existing bargaining agreement with the Somerset EMPLOYMENTParaprofessional Bargaining Unit
• SALARY:
  In accordance with the existing bargaining agreement with the Somerset Paraprofessional Bargaining Unit.
