What You Will Be Doing

An opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a major highways infrastructure project on the Banwell Bypass. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, you will support the commercial administration, reporting, and overall commercial performance of the scheme.

Local candidates are preferred, although relocation support may be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
Prepare subcontract documentation, including negotiating terms, prices, and programmes, and manage subcontract work packages throughout delivery.
Issue all required commercial notices to both the client and subcontractors in line with the contract.
Manage contract change efficiently, including preparing and submitting Compensation Event Quotations.
Produce detailed monthly commercial reports and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
Develop and maintain a detailed cost plan, forecasting expenditure and managing subcontractor liabilities, using cost‑management systems such as Oracle or similar tools.
Apply strong commercial judgement to maximise value and profitability.

About You

Strong understanding of standard forms of contract and solid working knowledge of construction processes.
Proficient IT skills, including Excel, Word, and commercial management systems.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
Relevant degree and/or experience within a commercial role in the construction or infrastructure sector.
Professional accreditation such as MCIOB or MRICS, or working toward full membership (desirable).
