Join a Supportive, Forward-Thinking GP Surgery in Somerset Braemar Medical is currently working with one of our valued GP surgery clients to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GPs to join their friendly, patient-focused and forward-thinking team.

The practice offers an excellent opportunity for both experienced GPs and newly qualified GPs looking to establish themselves within a supportive primary care environment.

Newly qualified GPs are encouraged to apply, with strong support available to help develop clinical skills, confidence and professional interests.

You will have the opportunity to focus on delivering high-quality patient care while developing your clinical interests and contributing to the continued development of the practice.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues across the practice and wider primary care team to provide safe, effective and patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality face-to-face, telephone and online GP consultations.
  • Diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Provide continuity of care for patients with complex healthcare needs.
  • Develop appropriate treatment and management plans.
  • Prescribe safely in accordance with local and national guidelines. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records. Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services.
  • Participate in clinical meetings and multidisciplinary team working.
  • Contribute to clinical governance and patient safety initiatives.
  • Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement projects.
  • Support the delivery of enhanced services where appropriate.
  • Contribute to QOF and other relevant primary care targets.
  • Participate in continuing professional development.
  • Support the wider practice team in delivering high-quality patient care.

Person Specification Essential Qualified General Practitioner.

  • Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise.
  • Inclusion on the NHS England Performers List.
  • Eligible to practise independently as a GP in the UK.
  • Completion of GP Specialty Training/CCT or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development. Desirable MRCGP.
  • Previous experience working within UK General Practice.
  • Experience with QOF and Enhanced Services. Interest in developing a specialist clinical interest.
  • Experience contributing to clinical governance or quality improvement.
