We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a supportive school in Somerset working with students aged 11-16. This role will involve supporting young people with an ASD and ADHD profile, as well as pupils who present with a trauma background.
We welcome applications from experienced SEN specialists, as well as primary-trained teachers, particularly those with a literacy specialism, who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning. Secondary-trained teachers with an interest in SEN are also encouraged to apply.
This position is available for an immediate start and offers a highly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference.
Key Responsibilities:Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
Support pupils with ASD, ADHD and trauma-related needs
Use creative and trauma-informed approaches to re-engage learners
Deliver targeted literacy intervention where appropriate
Create a calm, nurturing and structured learning environment
Work closely with support staff, SENCOs and external agencies
Monitor progress and adapt strategies to promote positive outcomes
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent)
Experience working with SEN, ASD, ADHD or trauma (highly desirable)
Primary or secondary teaching background considered
A literacy specialism would be a strong advantage
Strong behaviour management and flexibility
A calm, patient, resilient and empathetic approach
A genuine passion for inclusive and restorative education
