Position: Temporary French Teacher – Secondary School (North )

Start Date: Mid-February 2026
Duration: 4 weeks
Location: North Somerset

A secondary school in North Somerset is seeking to appoint a Temporary French Teacher for a short-term assignment of four weeks, starting mid-February 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly capable teacher to join a well-established department and deliver engaging French lessons. All planning and teaching resources will be provided. We are keen to find an individual who can hit the ground running and maintain high standards from day one.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality French lessons across the relevant year groups
  • Follow provided planning and schemes of work, adapting where necessary to meet students’ needs
  • Maintain positive classroom management and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor and support student engagement and progress
Person Specification
  • Qualified teacher with strong subject knowledge in French
  • Experienced, confident, and adaptable
  • Able to work independently and maintain high professional standards
  • Committed to inspiring and motivating students

This is a temporary position for four weeks. Applicants should be available from mid-February 2026.

Experience, Qualifications and Training:
  • A qualified teacher with QTS (or QTLS) and a strong background in Modern Foreign Languages.
  • A creative and reflective practitioner with excellent subject knowledge.
  • Able to inspire and motivate students through high-quality teaching and a passion for the subject.
  • Committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Eligibility to work in a teaching role:
  • Holds Right to Work in the UK
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
  • Enhanced DBS with Barred List check certificate which is either on the online ‘Update Service’ or be willing to apply for a new DBS certificate
