Learning Support Assistant – Primary School
Location:
Wiveliscombe
Pay Rate: £92.00 – £109.00 per day
Job Type: Full-time – Term Time Only (Temporary with Potential for Permanent Contract)
Hours:
8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Are you passionate about helping children reach their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Wiveliscombe, supporting pupils to engage, achieve, and develop confidence in their learning.

About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning and make progress. The role will involve a combination of 1:1 support and small group intervention work, helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
You will work alongside teachers and other support staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment, encouraging independence, resilience, and confidence. The school offers a rich and varied curriculum, including outdoor learning opportunities and a strong focus on wellbeing, making it a rewarding environment in which to support young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs
Deliver small group interventions to reinforce learning and key skills
Support children with engagement, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive relationships
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, and families
Maintain high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare
