Working arrangement:

Quantum Scholars is looking for a dedicated, patient and experienced SEND Maths Tutor to provide tailored one-to-one support to a student in Somerset. This is an in-person tutoring role, supporting a young person who requires a personalised approach to their education outside of a traditional classroom setting.

The successful tutor will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Maths sessions that are adapted to the student's individual learning needs, abilities and interests. The role will require someone who is confident working with pupils who may have additional learning needs and who can create a calm, supportive and encouraging learning environment.

The tutor will work closely with the student's existing education team and, where appropriate, parents or carers to help establish clear learning goals and monitor progress. Sessions should be structured but flexible, allowing the tutor to respond to the student's needs on a lesson-by-lesson basis while continuing to work towards meaningful academic and personal outcomes.

The ideal tutor will:

Have experience teaching or tutoring Maths across secondary level.
Have previous experience working with SEND pupils, ideally in a one-to-one or small-group setting.
Be confident adapting Maths lessons to suit different learning abilities and styles.
Be patient, empathetic and able to build a positive relationship with the student.
Have strong behaviour management and communication skills.
Be able to provide engaging, practical and accessible Maths activities.
Understand the importance of building confidence alongside academic progress.
Be reliable, consistent and committed to providing continuity of support.
Be comfortable working outside of a traditional school environment.
Hold, or be willing to obtain, the necessary safeguarding checks.
Must have right to work in the UK

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher, experienced SEND teacher, SENCO, HLTA or specialist tutor who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential.

Quantum Scholars is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All applicants will be subject to appropriate safeguarding and safer recruitment checks.

If you are an enthusiastic Maths tutor who enjoys providing personalised support and would like to make a genuine difference to a student's education, Quantum Scholars would love to hear from you.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy
