Company Description

Hummingbird Learning Lab is an innovative education community focused on empowering young people, educators, and parents through new approaches to learning. Inspired by nature and grounded in perceptual neuroscience and complex adaptive systems, the Lab creates environments where curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness are actively practiced. Learning is designed as a discovery-based experience that values both process and product, emphasizing way finding, wisdom, wellbeing, and meaningful impact.

Real-world authenticity is central to the work, with learners engaging as scientists, artists, entrepreneurs, and creators. Beautiful Mind Learning Labs fosters a culture where everyone is both a learner and a leader of learning, modeling the change they seek to create in students’ lives and communities.

The Lead Educator will create a safe and supportive learning environment, encourage reflective practice, and integrate perceptual neuroscience concepts into age-appropriate learning experiences.

This role involves collaborating with other educators and community partners, communicating regularly with learners and families, and adapting teaching approaches based on observation, feedback, and assessment. The Lead Educator will also contribute to the ongoing development of the Learning Lab by sharing insights, co-creating resources, and modeling curiosity, care, and leadership in learning.

  • Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training, including the ability to structure learning sequences and support other educators’ development.
  • Excellent Communication skills for engaging with learners, families, colleagues, and community partners in a clear and empathetic manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaborative, inclusive learning environments that nurture curiosity, creativity, and wellbeing.

  • Capability to integrate real-world, interdisciplinary projects that connect science, arts, entrepreneurship, and everyday life.
  • Relevant teaching qualification or educator training, and prior experience working with children or young people in formal or informal learning settings.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, reflective practice, and modeling the Lab’s 10 C’s (e.g., conscious, caring, curious, courageous, calm) in daily work.
