Classic Car Restoration Mechanic

Classic Car Mechanic – Play a key role in a growing specialist workshop.

Location: Somerset

Salary: 40k‑50k

Type: Full-time Permanent Mon‑Fri voluntary OT available

You’ll carry out diverse mechanical tasks spanning servicing, repair, fault‑finding and light restoration. This position suits someone who enjoys problem‑solving, takes real pride in craftsmanship, and there is no requirement for panel or paint work.

• Mechanical repair, service and restoration of classic vehicles
• Engine strip, rebuild, tuning and diagnosis
• Drivetrain and suspension restoration, upgrade and set‑up
• Carburettor and ignition tuning
• Sympathetic electrical repair and fault‑finding
• Routine servicing and road testing
• Working collaboratively within a small skilled team

• Experienced working on classic, vintage or pre‑OBD vehicles
• Strong diagnostic capability across mechanical and electrical systems
• Confident working to high craftsmanship standards
• Passionate about automotive history and traditional engineering
• Proactive, hands‑on and adaptable within a developing workshop
• Good communication skills and comfortable working in a customer‑focused environment
