Experienced / Senior Social Worker needed for a Family safeguarding role in Somerset, paying £41 ph!

Somerset has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior / Experienced Children’s Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding – South Somerset Team.

We are passionate about improving outcomes for our most vulnerable children, young people, and families, and have successfully embedded the innovative Family Safeguarding model. This enables social workers to work alongside adult-focused specialist practitioners, accessing expert intervention and advice in substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health, ensuring assessments and plans are informed, holistic, and effective.

You will also have access to specialist expertise from the Child Exploitation (CE) Team, helping to address this growing area of need.

• Manageable caseloads allow you the time and space to be the creative, innovative social worker you want to be.
• A key part of this role is direct work with children, ensuring their voices are heard and their lived experiences understood.
• You will work in a strengths-based, relationship-focused way with parents, wider family networks, and partner agencies to support meaningful and sustainable change.
• With permanent Team Managers, Consultant Social Workers, and a well-established senior leadership team, you will receive regular, reflective supervision and consistent professional support.
• We are looking for social workers who are passionate about relationship-based practice, proud of their profession, and able to think creatively about how strong relationships can make a real difference to children and families.
