Repair and Tool Technician

Overview

Repair and Tool Technician role at The Home Depot. The position focuses on the evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices. Technicians may work in stores with Tool Rental Centers or in repair centers, providing service to customers and maintaining equipment.

• Evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices.
• Make equipment recommendations and ensure units are maintained.
• In a store, provide service to Tool Rental customers, write customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, verify tool operation, and demonstrate proper use as needed.
• Support day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department.
• In non-store locations, ensure units are repaired, tested for repair quality, and cleaned prior to returning to the originating store.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all tools and effectively manage the tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.

• Knowledge of tools and repair procedures relevant to small engines and outdoor power equipment.
• Ability to manage tool inventory and perform repairs to standard quality levels.
