Seeking Accounting Manager, Permanent, up to $100000 in Somerville at a Non-Profit.

Accounting Manager Temp to perm Hybrid Must Haves:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred
- Experience with government-funded programs, governmental accounting, grant management, and/or audit compliance requirements is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of financial statement preparation, month-end close, and budgeting processes
- Some supervisory experience strongly preferred (only 1 report as of now)
- Manage the monthly close process and preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related accounting
- Administer fund accounting and ensure compliance with grant, contract, and governmental funding requirements
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring
- Coordinate annual audit activities and serve as a primary liaison to external auditors
- Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
- Partner with leaders throughout the organization to provide financial guidance, reporting, and budget support
- Identify process improvements and help enhance operational efficiency across finance functions
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred
- Experience with government-funded programs, governmental accounting, grant management, and/or audit compliance requirements is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of financial statement preparation, month-end close, and budgeting processes
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to work independently in a lean environment
- Experience supporting organizations with annual budgets in the $5M-$15M range
- Experience interacting with program leadership, HR, operations, and executive leadership teams
- Background in nonprofit, human services, social services, healthcare nonprofit, housing, community development, municipal, or government-funded organizations preferred
