About the RoleOur office at 240 Elm Street in Somerville (Davis Square, steps from the Red Line) is the operational home of Boston Research Journals. We need an experienced administrator to own it: the calendars, the vendors, the mail and shipping (including printed journal dispatches), the supplies, the visiting editors and the hundred small things that make an office work.

- Coordinate shipping and receiving, including printed journal copies and author dispatches.
- Keep organizational records tidy: filing, invoices, basic bookkeeping support and compliance paperwork.
- Schedule meetings, travel and events for the leadership and editorial teams.
- 4–5 years of office administration or operations experience.
- Excellent organization and follow-through — you close loops without being chased.
- Strong written and spoken English; professional, warm front-of-house manner.
- Confident with Google Workspace / Microsoft Office and everyday office technology.
- Able to work on-site five days a week in Somerville, MA.
- Experience in publishing, academia or another deadline-driven professional office.
- Basic bookkeeping (Quick Books or similar).
