Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental Specialist for our Lab & Onsite Support Services (Lab/OSS) team. As an Environmental Specialist, you will support our clients on‑site by managing hazardous waste programs and projects in compliance with state and federal regulations.

This position reports to the Operations Manager and is based on client sites throughout the Boston & Greater Boston area, with an office location in Somerville, MA.

Responsibilities- Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations and Triumvirate’s Health and Safety practices.
- Prepare chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal, including creation of all federal/state waste documents and managing the paperwork for the material.
- Handle hazardous waste containers safely on client sites and load/unload waste from vehicles.
- Conduct safety equipment and hazardous waste inspections.
- Occasionally perform and document Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) audits for clients.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by providing outstanding support and innovative solutions to our clients.
- Build high‑level state and federal regulatory expertise to ensure client compliance (e.g., RCRA, DOT, OSHA).
- Conduct spill response measures, including assessment and cleanup efforts.
- Rotate on‑call responsibilities as part of our Emergency Response team (optional).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the hazardous‑waste industry, or relevant military experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Analytical skills to develop solutions and implement strategies for positive outcomes.
- Skilled in building strong, positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours (Monday‑Friday).
- Ability to complete a 2‑3 year professional advancement program in hazardous waste management.
- Experience handling hazardous chemicals and biological waste, including PPE use; role is considered safety‑sensitive.
- Must be able to report to the Somerville office within 1 hour during emergency response shifts.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to consent to motor vehicle record screening, criminal background check, pre‑employment physical and drug screen (incl. THC).
- Eligibility to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.
- Prior relevant industry experience.
- Prior successful experience in a customer service role.
- Active HAZWOPER 24‑ or 40‑hour certification.
- Willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Pay Range$25,000 – $26,000 USD per year (actual starting base pay may vary based on education, experience, skills, location and budget).
