Role DescriptionForm Energy is hiring a Staff Engineering Program Manager to take on a pivotal role in developing the strategy and driving execution of our first in‑kind battery development and manufacturing programs. As part of the TPM (Technical Program Management) team, you will bring cross‑functional teams together and execute on the plan to transition the product from development to prototype and then commercial manufacturing.
You will partner with multiple Design and Engineering teams and other program managers across Form Energy. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast‑moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!
- Drive product development programs to milestones while managing and communicating schedules across multiple teams to ensure efficient alignment, coordination, and execution of Form’s highly cross‑functional goals.
- Proactively identify and frame key decisions, risks, and work with stakeholders to develop decision‑quality options; facilitate progress by ensuring appropriate scheduling, resourcing, and prioritization of engineering workflows.
- Assess and mitigate program risks based on development activities across electrical, controls, mechanical, and chemical subsystems.
- Contribute to program management systems and structures based on best‑practices and your personal experience, to effectively integrate with and support Form Energy’s world‑class technical team.
- Contribute to and execute on Form’s Product Development Process directly supporting the integration of subsystems supporting the architecture team, through the full life cycle of the product (PDP).
- Serve as the single accountable owner of Form’s phase‑gate product development system (updating and implementing).
- Collaborate with Engineering leadership to construct and maintain product development plans, schedules, and trackers consistent with Form’s PDP.
- Ensure all our product plans and assumptions are rationalized with the high‑level system requirements.
- 7+ years of experience in Technical / Engineering Program Management.
- Demonstrated experience in managing programs for product development of a complex product combining electrical hardware, software & mechanical components.
- Ability to understand the big picture from a technical and schedule standpoint.
- Strong ability to drive programs forward, remove roadblocks, and escalate any major risks or issues.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills and able to communicate at an Executive level.
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously.
