Senior Mechanical Engineer in Soft Robotics and Pneumatics

Gentle Care, a fully‑funded startup that emerged from the MIT Robotics Lab, is at the forefront of building robots for elder care. We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands‑on Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join us in our mission.

We are looking for candidates with at‑least 1–2 years of experience and a proven track record of building reliable and scalable soft mechanical systems.

• Mechanism design and carefully applied soft robotics on pressurized sealed materials.
• Experience in Pneumatics and Pressure Sensing and Controls.
• 1–2 years of experience building robust mechanical systems.
• Solid experience with fabrication, machining, and assembly processes.
• Hands‑on experience with rapid prototyping methods (3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining).

• Manufacturing, rapid prototyping, and production of mechanical components and assemblies in soft robotics.
• Design and develop robust mechanical systems for soft robotic platforms, including mechanism design, and sealed elements with TPU.
• Select materials, fasteners, and fabrication methods to meet performance, safety, and cost requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electronics and software.

Salary: 100K‑150K plus stock options depending on the work experience.
