Job DescriptionThe main goal of Cyber Threat Hunting is to proactively identify undetected cyber threats affecting DXC and its customers. The Senior Cyber Threat Hunter will be responsible for providing technical support in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet both DFI’s and its customers’ business needs. Utilizing a combination of commercial platforms and open-source data, they will leverage intelligence to help formulate and deliver Threat Hunting and Incident Response services on behalf of DXC.
The candidate will help drive the progress of the team, provide new service ideas, and develop new methodologies in hunting. Client-facing responsibilities include presenting and explaining the threat hunt service reports, handling client queries, producing reports and presentations, and managing the back-end infrastructure.
- Provide leadership with commercial clients, handling threat hunt service requests, queries and issues.
- Lead a subset of team members in specific client threat hunt exercises, managing workload distribution and organisation of all aspects of the delivery of the threat hunt service.
- Be a thought‑leader in the development of threat hunt hypotheses and methodologies.
- Lead major incident investigations, tracking and coordinating the actions of team members.
- Report status of client threat hunts to operational management.
- Analyse and correlate results from various technology platforms, investigating the impact of security events from IOCs, IOAs or behavioural patterns.
- Participate in the design, execution, and reporting of threat hunt exercises for DXC and its customers.
- Understand DXC’s technologies to deliver a cyber defence service that meets both DXC’s and customer requirements.
- Conduct detailed security event analysis from data sources including network traffic, memory captures and disk images.
- Deliver assigned tasks within the delivery cycle of a project or task.
- Assist in other DFI tasks such as lab maintenance, new system installation, update scripts and technical presentations.
- Follow procedures to communicate, report, and Escalate incidents to appropriate units.
- Maintain good relationships with team members, DXC colleagues and customers.
- Mentor Cyber Threat Hunters and develop knowledge sharing sessions.
- Travel to client sites when needed.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation.
- University Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Digital/Cyber Security.
- Event and alert analysis from platforms such as SIEM.
- Log analysis – Windows, Web, Linux logs.
- More than 2 years experience with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR).
- Over 5 years of industry experience.
- 2+ years of EDR experience.
- Certifications such as CHFI, CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, GCIH, GREM, GCFA.
- Computer Forensics / Cyber Security / Ethical Hacking experience.
- Penetration testing.
- Deep understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of threat hunting and incident response principles.
- Excellent communication and customer‑centric focus.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Highly organised and self‑motivated.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Team player with collaboration skills.
- Understanding of 24x7 mission‑critical environments.
- Proactive learning of new technology and processes.
- Continuous learning and professional development mindset.
$88,200 - $163,900 per annum (based on experience and role). Full‑time hires are eligible to participate in DXC’s benefit program.
