Young Adult Peer Mentor - Family After School Program - Part Time
Join Riverside Community Care in this vital role supporting youth in our Family After School Program, which provides a structured, therapeutic environment for children ages 6–12 in the Cambridge and Somerville communities who have experienced challenges such as neglect, homelessness, and trauma.
Responsibilities- Help individuals gain access to resources and community supports.
- Collaborate closely with the clinical team and use lived experience as a positive model for individuals' growth and recovery.
- Provide transportation (pick‑up and drop‑off) from school to the program, from the program to home, and for field trips.
Part‑time, 20 hours per week:
School Year
Hours:
2–6 pm;
Summer
Hours:
1–5 pm.
$21.63 per hour; $22.28 per hour with "Peer Specialist" certification.

- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Certification as a "Peer Specialist" (can be attained after hire).
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
- Experience living with and recovering from mental health needs, substance use, and/or traumatic life concerns that caused challenge in one or more areas of life.
- High school degree/GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- One year of experience working with the target population preferred.
