As a Senior Backend / AI Applications Engineer at Mobi, you’ll join a collaborative, highly creative, and fast-paced team to design and build reliable backend services and AI-driven applications. You’ll play a key role as both architect and developer, shaping technologies that power Mobi’s portfolio of travel AI products used by some of the world’s leading brands.

This is a hands-on backend role with end-to-end ownership of production services, from clarifying ambiguous customer needs and making architecture trade-offs to implementation, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing reliability. You’ll work closely with product, design, and other engineers to build the APIs, integrations, and agent workflows behind Mobi’s travel AI products, delivering reliable experiences for our customers and their travelers.

We’re excited to work with someone who has made AI a meaningful part of how they build software. A strong proficiency in AI-assisted software development is essential to this role. You’ll bring hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agents to turn ideas into production-ready features—from exploring solutions and writing code to testing, debugging, and refining what you’ve built. You know how to guide these tools thoughtfully, challenge their output, and take ownership of the results.

Just as importantly, you’re curious about what’s possible and eager to discover and share new ways of working with AI.

• Develop, test, and maintain MCP services and agent applications that connect Mobi’s travel AI products to customer and partner systems.

• Build and operate Python APIs, integrations, and AWS infrastructure with clear contracts, authentication, retries, idempotency, observability, and actionable error handling.
