We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing accounting team in the Somerset County area. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong general ledger experience who enjoys working through month-end close, performing account analysis, and supporting accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of accounting activities.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjusting entries.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Perform detailed account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance research.
• Assist with accounts payable processing and related accounting activities as needed.
• Review account balances and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies while maintaining well-organized financial records.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to support process improvements and maintain compliance with internal accounting procedures.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a Staff Accountant or similar general accounting role.
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience.
• Solid understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis.
• Some accounts payable experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

• Salary: $85,000 annually.
• Location: Somerset County, NJ.
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid.
