Piping Design Engineer will lead the design, modeling, and analysis of piping systems for large‑scale dry cooling equipment. This role blends 3D piping design, code‑compliant stress analysis, and cross‑disciplinary engineering coordination to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient system performance. You’ll work closely with mechanical, structural, and project engineering teams to support the design and fabrication of ACC and ACHE systems.
Responsibilities- Develop detailed piping system designs using 2D and 3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, Tekla, Micro Station, or similar) consistent with standards.
- Perform piping stress analyses in accordance with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 codes.
- Evaluate thermal expansion, vibration, support loads, and nozzle loads for piping connected to pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and structural steel.
- Prepare engineering deliverables including isometrics, support details, stress reports, and material specifications.
- Collaborate with structural and mechanical teams to integrate piping with ACC/ACHE modules and steel structures.
- Review vendor drawings and fabrication documents for compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure adherence to codes including ASME Section VIII, OSHA, AISC, and internal standards.
- Support field teams during installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning as needed.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3–7 years of experience in piping design and stress analysis for industrial or power‑generation systems.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, Tekla, or Micro Station.
- Hands‑on experience with stress analysis software (e.g., CAESAR II, AutoPIPE).
- Strong knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3, and Section VIII pressure vessel and piping codes.
- Familiarity with welding practices related to structural steel and pressure‑retaining components.
- Ability to interpret complex geometry and integrate piping into large modular assemblies.
- Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional coordination and client interaction.
- Experience with air‑cooled heat exchangers or steam condensers.
- Background in power generation or heavy industrial projects.
- Knowledge of finite element analysis for nozzle load evaluation.
- Experience with international codes (EN, ISO, etc.) used in global projects.
