Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified full-time, CSP Tech in Somerville, NJ.

• Current National Sterile Processing Certification and 1 year of CSP experience
• 2 years of CRCST experience in a hospital setting or Same Day Surgery Center preferred

• Current National Sterile Processing Certification

• Night Shift, 40 hours/week
• Full-Time

• Maintain adequate inventory for assembly of instruments and equipment
• Perform multiple tasks that assist in the daily operation of all units as well as being responsible for customer service
• Perform and participate in the decontamination and cleaning of all instrumentation received, which include but are not limited to instrumentation and equipment received from all units according to established standards and procedures
• Prepare case carts and trays for decontamination and load them into washer and/or sterilizer as prescribed procedure
• Perform the operation of the index washers, cart washers, ultrasonic cleaners as well as manually cleaning instruments and equipment as prescribed by established standard and procedures
• Inspect all instruments for cleanliness, proper function, and breakage by viewing the instruments before assembly
• Use appropriate container, wrap or pouch according to the size of the instrument or equipment
• Sterilize instruments and surgical trays by following prescribed policies and procedures
• Know how to run tests on all sterilizers, monitor and document that all parameters have been met
• Use chemicals in the appropriate fashion taking into consideration the intended use of the chemical as well as the chemical’s function: knowledge of appropriate PPE is also necessary
• Participate in expediting the OR schedule by assisting the other members of the OR team in obtaining the instruments/equipment necessary for the procedure in a timely manner; assemble and distribute case carts accurately and in a timely manner
