Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified Per Diem CSP Tech in Somerville, NJ.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Current National Sterile Processing Certification and 1 year of CSP experience

Preferred:

• 2 years of CRCST experience in a hospital setting or Same Day Surgery Center is preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

• Evening Shift
• Per Diem

Essential Functions:

• Maintain adequate inventory for assembly of instruments and equipment
• Perform multiple tasks that assist in the daily operation of all units as well as being responsible for customer service
• Perform and participate in the decontamination and cleaning of all instrumentation received, including but not limited to instrumentation and equipment from all units according to established standards and procedures
• Prepare case carts and trays for decontamination and load them into washer and/or sterilizer as prescribed
• Operate index washers, cart washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and manually clean instruments and equipment as prescribed
• Inspect all instruments for cleanliness, proper function, and breakage before assembly
• Use appropriate container, wrap, or pouch according to the size of the instrument or equipment
• Sterilize instruments and surgical trays following prescribed policies and procedures
• Run tests on sterilizers, monitor, and document that all parameters are met
• Handle chemicals properly, considering their intended use and function; knowledge of PPE is necessary
• Assist in expediting the OR schedule by helping obtain necessary instruments/equipment in a timely manner and assembling/distributing case carts accurately
