The Career Development Office at Ashoka University plays a vital role in helping students realise their professional aspirations. Through our comprehensive career preparatory program, organisational outreach, and counselling services, we equip Ashoka students with the skills and resources to embark on gaining knowledge, choosing sustainable career paths and thus helping them to become leaders who are on the road to progress with a well-defined purpose..
Role and Responsibilities:
Management & Execution of Career Preparatory Programmes (CPP)
Design and lead the career track of Ashoka's Career Prep Program, tailored to diverse majors and student interests
Ascertaining CPP requirements, as per industry feedback, market trends, and students' aspirations
Integrate the efforts of preparatory programs for placements, internships and higher education
Plan and execute placement prep interventions across sectors like Consulting, BFSI, Development, FMCG, E-commerce and Tech
Engaging with Ashoka alumni for specific CPP sessions
Managing external vendors, if any, for CPP
Managing student-wise CPP data
Create and update CPP presentations for management and other stakeholders
Student Engagement
Facilitate structured interactions aligned to student interests and sector trends, through 1:1s and small groups
Engage with students of different cohorts through one-on-one career counselling, CPP townhalls and other activities. Counsel students (one-on-one and in groups) on various career-related issues such as resume building, group discussions, etc. and manage workshop calendar for the CDO's student sessions
Coordination with various student committees
Support career buddy systems for final-year and pre-final-year students
Qualifications and
Skills Required:
Bachelor's/Master's degree. A Liberal Arts qualification will be an advantage
8-12 years of work experience in a relevant domain. Experience in training, placement
-internships, higher education and career development
Experience in managing diverse learning and development programs for a large number of participants
Strong ability to translate Liberal Arts education into career language across interdisciplinary pathways
Ability to manage multiple partner relationships
Experience in running alumni engagement, employer workshops, or mentorship programs
Highly entrepreneurial and a self-starter
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously
Analytical mindset — can use data to track career prep engagement, impact, and student needs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Social Media experience will be an added advantage
