PRIMARY PURPOSE OF

THE ROLE

The Senior Product Development Technologist will lead new product development for  wet retorted products  across the India region, delivering safe, high‑quality, and cost‑effective solutions for the Consumer segment. The role is accountable for translating customer and market needs into commercially scalable products through robust formulation, thermal process design, and cross‑functional execution.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead end‑to‑end development of wet retorted products (e.g., sauces, gravies, ready‑to‑eat systems) from concept to commercialization. Apply Design to Value (DTV) principles to ensure right‑first‑time delivery, product safety, shelf‑life stability, and manufacturability under retort processing conditions.
Drive disciplined R&D project management to achieve NPD milestones, accelerate internal technology and flavour utilization, and deliver projects on time and in full while maintaining competitive differentiation.
Partner with customers through technical presentations, product demonstrations, and site engagements to support innovation discussions, address technical challenges related to retorted applications, and build a strong opportunity pipeline positioning the company as a trusted solutions partner.
Develop and approve product and raw material specifications, including ingredient declarations, nutritional data, labelling, and packaging requirements suitable for wet retort processing. Support HACCP, GHP, HALAL, and food safety audits in line with R&D and regulatory standards.
Lead technology transfer and scale‑up of new or improved wet retorted products to Operations and QA. Execute production trials and first commercial runs, ensuring process robustness, repeatability, and compliance with food safety and quality requirements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

BSc in Food Science/Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or any related field.
Minimum of 6-8 years' experience.
HACCP and GMP certifications and Food Safety training.
