Job Description & How to Apply Below

Our purpose?

Glad you ask. In a nutshell, we're all about making the world of wine a better place. We fund and source directly from independent winemakers to bring customers better quality wine for a better price. No thirsty middlemen as far as the eye can see.

It's a different way of doing things, sure. But it works. We're currently the largest online direct-to-consumer winery in the USA, shipping over 1 million(!) packs a year to curious wine lovers. And with an ambitious road ahead, we've got no plans on plugging the cork on growth.

Our global team (we have offices in the UK and Australia, too) is entrepreneurial by nature, obsessive about customer experience and driven by performance. All things that make Naked a great place to grow both personally and professionally. And yes, we like wine. A lot.

Join a team that believes great wine begins with great relationships. As our Senior Wine Buying Manager, you'll work hand-in-hand with talented winemakers, collaborate across our business, and help craft a range that delights customers and drives growth. If you're a savvy negotiator, a lover of data, and someone who's energized by both creativity and commercial thinking, you'll feel right at home at Naked Wines.

You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the annual buy plan process through great organisation and strong collaboration with the Planning, Merchandising & Retention team and Winemakers
  • Negotiating cost prices and commercial terms of existing wines during annual buy plan, top-up purchasing and promotional campaigns
  • Constantly looking for ways to optimise value for Naked customers through commercial opportunities
  • Working with the Growth team to bring innovation and newness to the range by sourcing and introducing great value wines and winemakers
  • Managing winemaker relationships to ensure we foster a community of engaged and informed winemakers
  • Understand the needs of Naked, the customer and the winemaker and not afraid to have tough conversations to get good results
  • Enabling commercial data accuracy and understanding and utilizing the Global PO system
  • Managing any queries/challenges from suppliers

You are:

  • Able to build strong relationships with our winemakers
  • Knowledgeable of the commercial levers when negotiating with winemakers
  • A win win negotiator and able to hold your ground under pressure
  • Hard-working and capable of managing your own time and workload effectively
  • Fastidious about detail and accuracy
  • Highly adaptable to frequently changing circumstances and shifting goals
  • Able to manage competing priorities
  • Able to handle and manipulate commercial data to inform your strategies and deliver targets
  • Able and willing to travel to meet winemakers where they are at
Our Interview Process

We keep our process simple, transparent, and respectful of your time. Here's how it works:

Recruiter Chat (30 min)

A friendly conversation with our Talent team to learn more about you, your wine journey, and what excites you about Naked.

Hiring Manager Interview (45 min)

A deeper dive into your buying experience and philosophy with our Head of Wine Buying.

Team Interviews (2-3 rounds)

You'll meet a mix of our Buying and Growth team members. These chats focus on how you build relationships, manage priorities, negotiate, and collaborate to bring great wines and great stories to life.

Final Assessment (30 min)

A short presentation using materials we'll send you in advance. We want to see how you think about improving a part of our range—nothing tricksy, just a chance to show your approach.
