Camper Care Specialist

Eden Village West is hiring a Camper Care Specialist for Summer 2026! This is a residential position starting on June 8th and ending July 30th. The Camper Care Specialist will work closely with our counselors, other camper care specialists, and leadership to support the needs of all campers.

Eden Village West is an organic farm-to-table residential Jewish camp in Sonoma County, California with a 6‑week overnight summer program. Our 3rd‑11th grade campers enjoy farming, wilderness and homesteading skills, culinary arts, music and sports as they become empowered to promote a more environmentally sustainable, socially just, and spiritually connected world for all.

• Maintaining regular contact with parents during camp
• Preparing camper profiles for bunk counselors before the start of each session
• Regular communication with bunk counselors during each session
• Listening. Listening to staff. Listening to parents. Listening to campers
• Creating, distributing, collecting, and reviewing camper check‑in forms
• Daily check‑ins with leadership team to ensure the successful operation of summer camp
• Eden Village West has a very small staff. This position requires flexibility and a willingness to occasionally take on responsibilities outside the Camper Care’s immediate job description

$4,000 + Rm&brd

• Live in residence at camp in Healdsburg, California during staff training, summer camp, and post camp wrap‑up (June 8th - July 30th)
• Excellent communication skills
• Be enthusiastic, excited to try new things, generous, willing to be silly, flexible, creative, caring, and able to maintain a positive team attitude throughout a full work day
• Experience as a teacher, parent, or social work / psychology background preferred
• The person in this role is expected to stay at camp the entire season, attend staff training and live on site at Eden Village West for the 8 week summer season
• Prior experience as a supervisor, or clearly ready to step into a leadership/supervisory role with counselors who may be their peers outside of camp
• Able and willing to accept supervision and guidance.
• Able to put the needs of the campers and staff before the needs of self.
• Able to manage their own time, schedule, and tasks with flexible and willingness to go with the flow
