TheDepartment
The Department of Geology offers a B.S. in Geology and a B.A. in Earth and Environmental Sciences as well as minors in paleontology and geology. The Department's objectives include providing B.S. students with a broad, fundamental background in geology and its applications to prepare them to work in industry, to obtain professional licensure in the State of California, or to pursue graduate study.
Further, we strive to provide our B.A. students with a well-rounded curriculum that prepares them for a variety of careers, including earth science education, state agencies, and environmental advocacy. The Department also provides important courses in the University’s general education program and support courses for other majors.
We currently have a need to teach undergraduate Geophysics.
Required QualificationsA bachelors degree in Geology or related Earth Science field and/or extensive professional experience in an Earth Science-related industry.
Preferred QualificationsAn advanced degree in Geology or related Earth Science and/or specific experience in support of teaching Geophysics at the upper division undergraduate level is preferred.
Rank and SalaryFull-time is a 15-unit workload per semester. Actual salary is dependent upon the number of units assigned, educational preparation, and availability of funds subject to any CSU system faculty contract salary increases.
- Salary commensurate with degree level and experience.
- Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month.
- The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salary range indicated above is prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
