Lecturer in Geology – Sonoma State University

Sonoma State University, a public liberal arts and sciences university, seeks a temporary, part‑time Lecturer to teach undergraduate Geophysics courses (upper‑division). This appointment is for a 15‑unit workload per semester, with salary based on degree level and experience.

Duties
  • Teach undergraduate Geophysics courses at the upper‑division level.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related Earth Science field, or extensive professional experience in an Earth Science‑related industry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Geology or related Earth Science.
  • Specific teaching experience in Geophysics at the upper‑division undergraduate level.
Rank and Salary
  • Full‑time (15 units per semester) monthly base salary prorated to units worked.
  • Salary commensurate with degree level and experience.
  • Anticipated monthly salary range: $5,507 – $6,677.
  • Temporary faculty appointments are made on a part‑time, semester‑by‑semester basis and are contingent upon department needs and funding.
