Reporting to and under general direction of the Director, Upward Bound Lake and Mendocino County Programs, the Outreach Coordinator, Academic Talent Search performs a wide variety of complex Student Services Professional work by providing comprehensive academic advising services to students. The incumbent works collaboratively with other ATS advisors, university staff, faculty, and administrators to support the educational experience of the students/participants, including student recruitment, college placement, and overall student success and academic advising.

• Graduation from a four‑year college or university in a related field.
• Upper‑division or graduate coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution.
• Equivalent to three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience.
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may substitute for one year of work experience.
• Two years’ experience with TRIO, academic support, or similar programs, including work with low‑income, first‑generation, minority, or disadvantaged students.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency highly preferred.
• Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Knowledge of Google Suite, Student Access, and People Soft preferred.

Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and will not exceed $5,540 a month. This is a full time, fixed‑term, exempt position. The university reserves the right to terminate this appointment earlier than the scheduled expiration date.
