Sonoma Specialty Foods is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager who will be responsible for driving our food safety and quality standards efforts for the company. This role will work closely with production to ensure we are maintaining our high quality standards, and making sure we are working within our strict compliance standards with all food safety regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Functions- Provide leadership across all food safety, quality programs and lab activities of the facility.
- Manage the QA department including quality, regulatory compliance and food safety compliance.
- Provide leadership and direction on SQF, HACCP and FDA compliance to plant/processing teams.
- Oversee all recordkeeping for food safety compliance records as mandated by regulatory agencies or to maintain our food safety related certifications.
- Lead company through all 3rd party audits, from regulatory agencies, customer required audits and/or audits to maintain food safety related certifications.
- Work with the management team to continually improve food safety, product quality, and manufacturing processes.
- Continually build and maintain our strong commitment to product quality and food safety.
- Develop & maintain specs. for raw materials, manufacturing processes, finished products.
- Oversee legal compliance for label within FDA regulations for all labels, new and/or updated.
- Develop and execute employee training programs for food safety, quality and new product.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or equivalent experience in a food-related discipline, such as biology, microbiology, chemistry or food industry management preferred.
- At least 5 years QA experience within the food industry, at least 3 years in management.
- Strong analytical skills and problem‑solving abilities.
- Solid mathematical skills; percentages, metric and standard weights.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- FDA experience in a food production environment preferred.
- HAACP trained (w/certification of training preferred).
- SQF certification preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
