Position:Part‑Time Sales Representative
We’re seeking a part‑time Sales Representative to help grow our portfolio of family‑owned wineries in California. This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with on‑premise accounts (restaurants, wine bars, hotels) and select off‑premise retail partners. You'll represent wineries including SEPPI, Dancing Wines, Desforges Vineyards, and Merriam Vineyards.
This is a relationship‑first sales role—not transactional. We’re looking for someone who values authentic connections, believes in the stories behind the wines, and is committed to supporting small producers.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain relationships with on‑premise accounts (restaurants, wine bars, hotels) and retail partners throughout California
- Conduct wine tastings and presentations for buyers, sommeliers, and beverage directors
- Manage sales pipeline and follow‑up with existing and prospective accounts
- Coordinate sample deliveries and organize tasting appointments
- Communicate regularly with OWH team on account activity, orders, and market trends
- Attend industry events, trade tastings, and networking opportunities as needed
- Provide market feedback to winery partners to inform production and marketing strategies
- Maintain accurate records in CRM system
- 2+ years of wine sales experience in California market (on‑premise preferred)
- Established relationships with buyers, sommeliers, or beverage directors
- Strong knowledge of California wine regions, particularly Sonoma County
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Self‑motivated with ability to work independently
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Familiarity with wine distribution and three‑tier system
Preferred:
- WSET Level 2 or higher, Certified Sommelier, or equivalent wine education
- Experience representing small, family‑owned wineries
- Existing book of business or active accounts
- Passion for sustainable and organic viticulture
- Hourly Rate: $30–$40/hr (based on experience)
