Patient Services Rep​/Phlebotomist PT; SDX

Join Mako Medical as a Patient Services Rep/Phlebotomist PT (SDX).

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (e.g., drug screens, blood samples, pathology and cytology samples).
• Research and verify test/client information and written or electronic orders using lab technology systems.
• Complete accurate data entry for patient registration and test requisitions.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding credit card data.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test orders.
• Use iLabs daily to ensure accurate billing data.
• Provide CIR and PPE resolution reporting to the director, as scheduled.
• Perform clerical duties such as data entry, inventory management, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures (e.g., manuals, safety, compliance, employee handbook).
• Verify patient demographic info, initials, and signature post‑venipuncture to confirm correct labeling.
• Compile and submit monthly statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance and temperature) in a timely manner.
• Complete training courses and stay up‑to‑date with phlebotomy techniques.
• Travel to Territory Manager meetings if required.
• Participate in special projects and teams.
• Stay up‑to‑date on company communications.

• Provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
• Flexible and available for weekends, holidays, on‑call and overtime.
• Committed to Mako policies, procedures, dress code, health & safety, and guiding principles.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver license, clean driving record (if applicable).
• Demonstrated superior customer focus and clear communication with peers, supervisors, and patients.

• Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1–25 lb, occasionally 26–40 lb).
• Stand or sit for extended periods; requires long hours of eye and hand coordination.
• Perform repetitive tasks with the dominant hand frequently through the day.
• Travel as required.
• Use phone and PC extensively.
• Fine dexterity, bending/kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching/twisting.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
