Join Mako Medical as a Patient Services Rep/Phlebotomist PT (SDX).
Responsibilities- Collect specimens according to established procedures (e.g., drug screens, blood samples, pathology and cytology samples).
- Research and verify test/client information and written or electronic orders using lab technology systems.
- Complete accurate data entry for patient registration and test requisitions.
- Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding credit card data.
- Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test orders.
- Use iLabs daily to ensure accurate billing data.
- Provide CIR and PPE resolution reporting to the director, as scheduled.
- Perform clerical duties such as data entry, inventory management, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
- Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures (e.g., manuals, safety, compliance, employee handbook).
- Verify patient demographic info, initials, and signature post‑venipuncture to confirm correct labeling.
- Compile and submit monthly statistics and data.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance and temperature) in a timely manner.
- Complete training courses and stay up‑to‑date with phlebotomy techniques.
- Travel to Territory Manager meetings if required.
- Participate in special projects and teams.
- Stay up‑to‑date on company communications.
- Provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexible and available for weekends, holidays, on‑call and overtime.
- Committed to Mako policies, procedures, dress code, health & safety, and guiding principles.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver license, clean driving record (if applicable).
- Demonstrated superior customer focus and clear communication with peers, supervisors, and patients.
- Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1–25 lb, occasionally 26–40 lb).
- Stand or sit for extended periods; requires long hours of eye and hand coordination.
- Perform repetitive tasks with the dominant hand frequently through the day.
- Travel as required.
- Use phone and PC extensively.
- Fine dexterity, bending/kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching/twisting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
