Description
We are currently seeking a skilled MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing psychiatric care to children and adolescents, making a significant impact on their mental well-being. You will be involved in a variety of projects focused on diagnosing, treating, and managing mental health conditions in young patients.
As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will work closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each individual s needs. Your expertise in psychiatry, particularly in the context of child and adolescent mental health, will be essential in ensuring the well-being and recovery of your patients. Responsibilities:- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of children and adolescents.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and monitor medications for mental health conditions.
- Provide therapy and counseling to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Monitor and track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients and families about mental health issues and treatment options.
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss patient care.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Psychiatry with a focus on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Valid state medical license to practice as a Psychiatrist.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Empathy and compassion towards young patients and their families.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday
Call Requirement: 1:4 rotation, adult and child psychiatry coverage
Setting: 12-bed inpatient unit + outpatient clinic
Patient Population:
Ages 13+ for inpatient, 3+ for outpatient
Support Staff: 8 MDs, 9 APCs
Board certification required
