Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Preschool Aide who is compassionate, dependable, and committed to working with young children. The ideal candidate will have a nurturing heart, be a strong team player, and possess a deep understanding of students with diverse developmental needs. This role supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and faith-centered learning environment where every child can grow.
Responsibilities- Classroom support for lead teacher and students
- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
- Lead small group activities
- Help prepare and organize classroom materials
- Support transitions throughout the school day
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning space
- Monitor children to ensure a safe, healthy environment at all times
- Encourage positive behavior using gentle guidance and redirection
- Build warm, trusting relationships with children
- Model respectful behavior and problem-solving strategies
- Support children’s emotional regulation, including comforting when upset
- Assist in teaching age-appropriate skills such as letters, numbers, and social interaction
- Encourage participation and confidence in classroom activities
- Promote positive behavior and social development
- Uphold and model Catholic values throughout the school day
- Communicate professionally with staff, students, and families
- Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Patient, caring, and compassionate demeanor
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow directions from lead teacher
- Comfortable supporting children with special or additional needs
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
- Must pass a background check in accordance with diocesan and state regulation
