Location:
Elkhart, Indiana. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the college.
- Deliver non-credit Catapult Indiana Training course as assigned.
- Instruct class at designated location in Elkhart, to meet specific training and skillset objectives for high schoolers and recent high school graduates.
- Deliver instruction on a 10‑week, half‑day schedule of approximately 160 hours.
- Teach directly from Catapult Instructional materials designed for this course.
- Use equipment provided exclusively for the Catapult training.
- Maintain records on student attendance, progress, and skills mastery.
- Participate in training and professional development as needed.

- Expertise in Advanced Manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing, and the 5S Process, with the ability to convey knowledge through hands‑on instruction.
- Competency with Safety protocols and Quality‑Cost impact; also with OSHA and environmental awareness.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Kaizen methodology:
Continuous Improvement, Problem Solving, Improvement Implementation, Waste Reduction, Scale Solutions, Repeat cycles, etc. - Experience in assembly line production, preferably related to the automotive industry.
- Understanding of Supply Chain/Logistics, related to supporting a Just‑In‑Time production line or assembly line.
- Ability to give hands‑on instruction in a simulation lab, including the fundamental use of small hand tools and manufacturing parts, on a moving conveyor, and employee conditioning and injury prevention.
- Instruction in the use of blueprints, technical drawings, measurement skills with micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Logistics Management, or similar, plus over five years of experience in management at a manufacturing facility.
- Demonstrated conduct of all activities with appreciation and respect for the diversity of people, styles, and culture.
$50 per contract hour
