Estimator/Project Manager – Preconstruction

• Review and analyze project designs, evaluate constructability concerns, and prepare budgets and estimates.
• Research, solicit, and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Perform accurate quantity take‑offs, including backfill, piping, and earthwork.
• Use historical data to prepare self‑performed estimates and organize them for clear comprehension by the end user.
• Conduct site visits, review design documents, identify value‑engineering opportunities, and facilitate the bid process to maximize coverage.
• Actively participate in bidding and negotiation, communicating and collaborating with company personnel, vendors, and clients.
• Identify and evaluate risk factors, develop mitigation steps, and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Develop project schedules and sequences, understanding the means, methods, equipment, and labor required for successful completion.
• Stay informed of changes in construction costs, methods, materials, equipment, technology, and wage rates, pursuing training to increase effectiveness as an estimator.
• Represent the company professionally at all times and comply with all company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Bluebeam (or similar) PDF viewer/takeoff software.
• Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of engineering, estimating, or similar experience with mass earthwork, underground utilities, water and wastewater treatment plants, and exposed piping.
• PE license or the ability to obtain one is a plus.
• Ability to conduct accurate quantity take‑offs and develop self‑performed estimates for earthwork and underground utilities.

• HCSS Heavybid (or similar) estimating software.
• Agtek (or similar) earthwork takeoff software.
• Primavera P6 (or similar) scheduling software.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; PE license or intent to obtain.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in engineering/estimating for mass earthwork, underground utilities, and wastewater treatment plants.
