. The position offers a $2,500 sign‑on bonus.
- Report to the Practice Manager and work under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor and Office Supervisor.
- Perform clerical and patient care duties under general supervision.
- Assist the physician in supporting medical care: phlebotomy, answering the telephone, admitting and discharging patients, and performing data entry.
- Receive and greet patients and visitors, take and relay messages, and maintain patient records and charts.
- Record medical history, prepare patients for examination, assist with minor emergent or surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory and EKG tests, collect specimens, administer and record medication and injections.
- Interpret physician’s instructions to patients, provide patient instruction, check and maintain exam room supplies, and clean/sterilize instruments.
- Schedule office or hospital procedures, arrange referrals or pre‑certification, triage patient calls and manage medication dosage and refills.
- Preload patient information into the EMR and manage ongoing documentation.
- Complete additional duties and projects as assigned.
- Attend and participate in department meetings; keep all information shared confidential.
- Complete mandatory education, annual competencies and department‑specific training on time.
- Maintain employee health requirements, licenses/certifications, and current BCLS (CPR).
- Use universal precautions and ergonomic techniques; comply with regulatory agency requirements.
- Adhere to department policies and be available for overtime and additional shifts.

- Communicate clearly and continuously.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Minimum age 17.
- Successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant Program or equivalent work experience and certification.
- Previous medical office experience and Spanish language skills are desired.
- High emphasis on phlebotomy experience.
- Proficiency in patient care procedures, phlebotomy, EKGs, and other applicable procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; greet visitors professionally.
- Excellent office procedure knowledge and computer skills.
- Analytical skills for solving patient problems and interpreting data.
- Collaborative approach to improve health care delivery.
- Physician office environment; may require lifting or positioning patients.
- Flexible hours and work schedule required.
- Walk/stand for prolonged periods; push carts or wheelchairs up to 50 lbs; lift up to 35 lbs unassisted (assist required for >35 lbs); provide CPR as needed.
