Overview

This opportunity is for U.S. citizens who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces including Reserves, National Guard, and service member spouses. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual access to AWS services. You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers, collaborating across AWS to deliver safety and security while optimizing capacity and cost.

AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive stability and sustainability of next-generation networks and help develop ways to automate and scale the network.

Responsibilities
  • Scale support of several data center locations and assist with capacity management; collaborate with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.
  • Leverage experience supporting large-scale, enterprise networks, including network implementation and troubleshooting; establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures.
  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects; troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues (including patch panels and patch cords).
  • Specify Power and Cooling requirements and ensure Hardware Racking/Stacking is completed for new equipment; participate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
  • Travel within and outside the regional work area as required; maintain reliable transportation and valid driver’s license as company transportation is not provided.
  • Collaborate with the team to support AWS’ vast network infrastructure and contribute to a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
  • Work in a 24/7 environment with after-hours support as needed and participate in primary responder rotation
  • Work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments; bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for extended periods
  • Ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in a technical or vocational role such as Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations, or Technical Project Management
Preferred Qualifications
  • Data center experience; industry certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+ or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of network cabling, fiber types, and test equipment
  • Experience with network troubleshooting tools (e.g., VFLs, OTDR, power meters)
  • Understanding of infrastructure technologies (Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, Firewalls)
  • Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and networking protocols (BGP, OSPF)
