Central Dispatcher

Job Description

This role will work out of Portage, IN or South Bend, IN.

The dispatcher schedules, coordinates, dispatches, and monitors Badger units within a defined region following national processes and procedures. This role requires the flexibility to work nights and weekends.

The compensation for this position will be commensurate with education or work experience.

• Manages dispatch calendar (Google calendar, etc.)
• Manages daily dispatch activities (availability and time approval by Branch Manager (BM), dispatching closest trucks, etc.)
• Converts opportunities to sales requests (SR) and confirms with owner (Outside Sales Representative (OSR), General Manager (GM), or Branch Manager (BM))
• Answers central dispatch phone line in a timely and professional manner
• Processes requests from existing (standard) customers

• Education:
  
  high school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years dispatch experience, preferred
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with others under any type of condition
• Excellent clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes, and personnel
• Knowledge of computers for scheduling and other dispatching duties;
  Oracle Field Operations module preferred

• Ability to multitask with different, and sometimes conflicting, events happening at the same time
• Ability to work under stress and remain calm and to calm other people during rapidly changing circumstances
• Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment
