Overview

The Floor Coordinator at Imagineering Finishing Technologies is a front‑line production and beginning management position. The functional responsibility is to ensure all company policies, procedures, and schedules are being followed, bottlenecks and roadblocks are removed so our production staff can produce, and the department’s effort is coordinated to provide consistent, efficient quality results and customer satisfaction.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Provides department support by performing process tasks as necessary to facilitate total service to internal and external customers.
  • Ensures that the daily checklist is completed and turned in to the plant manager each day.
  • Communicates to the dock to ensure the appropriate product is moved in and out of the department in a timely manner.
  • Leads daily stand‑up meetings.
  • Audits all department time sheets to ensure breaks and lunches are taken and, if not, are approved in advance.
  • Under the direction of the Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager monitors schedules to meet customer requirements and maintain smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Works with Production Scheduling to coordinate due dates when customer required lead time is less than the company’s standard lead time.
  • Works to provide continuous improvement of various techniques performed within the duties of the department to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Works with production staff to ensure proper workflow of jobs, appropriate job sign‑offs, and maintenance of any records generated from these tasks.
  • Assists with 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Effectively works and communicates with cross‑functional departments including, but not limited to, EHS, Maintenance, Sales, and Quality.
  • Works and communicates effectively with the Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager regarding equipment and maintenance needs to provide a neat, clean, and organized production environment.
  • Assists the Technical Sales department by providing input on quotes if needed, technical advice and support, on‑site visits to customers, and through participation in other sales‑related functions.
  • Moves 10–35 lbs. on a repetitive basis without assistance.
  • Remains stationary on a continual basis for the duration of the shift.
  • Uses various types of respirators; respirator training, fit testing, and medical evaluations are required for issuance.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Assists with employee training.
  • Assists with the daily workflow of the assigned department(s).
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Ensures the team follows all company policies, procedures, and IFT's standards.
  • Provides guidance, training, equipment, and/or other resources to production staff to assist them in daily job duties.
  • Mentors team members to recognize and remove bottlenecks by reallocating people and equipment as necessary to meet corporate objectives.
  • Manages by facts and objective evidence.
  • Creates goals for individual team members to maximize IFT’s potential.
  • Assists the Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager with discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
