Job Description

1st shift (Monday - Friday 9:30am-6pm) Shipper needed in our environmentally controlled, extremely clean, state-of-the-art facility in South Bend, Indiana. The Shipper is responsible for boxing and processing Pick Suggestions while maintaining a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and quality. Basic understanding of boxing and processing orders.

• Process Pick Suggestions utilizing UPS World Ship and Fed Ex Ship Manager.
• Box parts according to shipping instructions and/or special instructions.
• Receive and put away shipping supplies.
• Ensure that Work Instructions are being followed and all processes are being met.
• Ability to utilize weigh scale in the counting of parts.
• Read, understand, and complete all Shipping Department documentation and work instructions to the PEI-Genesis, ISO 9001, and AS 9100 standard.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area using 5S principles.

• 0 - 1 year of boxing and processing experience
• Prior boxing and processing experience in a faced-paced environment
• Basic math and counting skills
• Receptive to cross‑training in other areas of Shipping
• Self‑motivated

• Must be a team player
• Quality focused with a high emphasis on accuracy
• High School Diploma or GED Preferred or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

• Basic ability to read and interpret Pick Suggestions and Work Orders.
• Basic understanding of PEI Quality Policy, FOD, and AS 9100 Overview.
• Basic understanding of FIFO (First In – First Out) practices.
• Knowledge of Product Identification and lot traceability as it pertains to boxing and processing orders.
• Basic computer skills dealing with UPS World Ship and Fed Ex.
• Achieve effective level in primary position as defined in Shipping Skills Matrix.
• Assists in training new employees in core skills of primary position.

• Manual lifting up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 70 lbs. on occasion (with assistance).
• Repetitive detailed work with hands for 8+ hours of the day.
• Ability to sit or stand for up to 8+ hours.
• Be able to reach overhead with or without the aid of a ladder or step stool.
• Ability to grip/grasp at least 8 hours of the day.

• Climate controlled.

• Some use of approved chemicals.
