Role OverviewWe need a Nurse Practitioner for a contract opportunity with our Behavioral Health client located in South Bend, IN
. The NP provides advanced clinical support for behavioral health and substance‑use programs, including intakes, partial hospitalization, inpatient, and detoxification services. Working under the direction of the Director of Nursing and in close collaboration with the Medical Director and interdisciplinary treatment team, the NP delivers direct patient care, performs assessments, prescribes medications, and ensures quality and compliance within all levels of care.
Schedule: Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat 7:00‑5:00 pm or 8:00‑6:00 pm (some flexibility allowed)
Type: Open to part or full time
Duration: 11/17‑12/31 with possibility to extend
Pay: $55‑65 per hour
What You'll Be Doing- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, including psychiatric evaluations, medical screenings, and substance‑use histories for all new admissions.
- Manage detox clients, monitor withdrawal symptoms, order and interpret labs, and implement evidence‑based detox and medication‑assisted treatment (MAT) protocols.
- Provide ongoing medical management and follow‑up for clients in inpatient and PHP levels of care.
- Collaborate daily with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Medical Director to coordinate care, address clinical issues, and ensure adherence to medical and nursing standards.
- Develop and update individualized treatment plans, ensuring integration of behavioral health and physical health goals.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, discharge planning, and aftercare coordination to support client recovery.
- Document all clinical encounters and medication management in the electronic health record (EHR) in compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Support the DON in policy development, audits, and quality‑improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Educate clients and families on diagnoses, medication regimens, withdrawal management, and recovery strategies.
- Maintain confidentiality, uphold ethical standards, and ensure client safety within all clinical operations.
- Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of employment.
- Master's (MSN) or Doctorate (DNP) degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Substance Use Disorder (SUD) experience required; prior work with detox or inpatient clients preferred.
- Knowledge of ASAM levels of care and behavioral health treatment models.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing, clinical, and medical teams.
- Proficiency in documentation and EHR systems.
- CPR/First Aid certification and compliance with facility credentialing requirements.
- Certification as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Experience in a behavioral health or substance‑use recovery facility.
- Familiarity with detoxification protocols, MAT programs, and PHP structure.
- Prior experience working under a Director of Nursing in a multidisciplinary setting.
