Registered Nurse (MHO) – Beacon Health System

Reports to the Director and provides professional nursing services, assessing patient needs and initiating, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans. Collaborates with clinical and ancillary staff to deliver high‑quality care.

• Perform high‑risk, high‑frequency technical procedures safely, effectively, efficiently, and legally.
• Set and revise care priorities based on acuity, resources, patient preferences, and departmental timelines.
• Respond to potential or actual risks to patient health by initiating corrective actions.
• Advocate for patients and families when necessary.
• Maintain accountability for own and delegated actions, basing decisions on scientific principles, protocols, and organizational values.
• Seek supervision or consultation when unable to perform safely.
• Use internal and external resources to resolve or prevent problems beyond individual control.
• Develop or revise patient care plans with measurable goals, reflecting patient values and preferences.
• Implement and adjust interventions to ensure continuity of care across the continuum.

• Maintain licenses, certifications, and BCLS (CPR) as required.

• Be available for overtime, additional shifts, and other duties as needed.

• BSN degree and current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Indiana.
• For candidates hired after January 1, 2014, a BSN must be obtained within five (5) years of employment or obtain certification in their area of specialty.
• Certification must be maintained according to accrediting body standards.

• High level of knowledge and competency in nursing care procedures, assessments, treatments, and techniques.
• Advanced analytical skills to solve complex problems and make patient‑care decisions.
• Interpersonal skills to establish effective relationships with staff, patients, visitors, physicians, and others.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.

• Patient care environment with physical exertion and frequent changes in demands.
• Exposure to biohazards.

• Ability to walk/stand for prolonged periods, push carts/wheelchairs up to 50 lb, lift patients up to 35 lb unassisted (over 35 lb requires assistance), provide CPR, etc.
