Reports to a Practice Manager/Director for administrative supervision and the Practice Site Physician or designee for clinical supervision. Responsible for the coordination and delivery of primary care, as specified by the appropriate certifying agency, to BMG patients at designated work sites. Provides clinical and administrative assistance to BMG programs and works collaboratively in the education of nursing students, medical residents, and other pre‑professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver primary and nursing care in collaboration with the Practice Site Physician:
  • Work within the approved scope of practice.
  • Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
  • Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Perform a complete physical exam and record findings; collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long‑term medical needs.
  • Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan using principles of prevention.
  • Administer medications and injections according to physician direction; suturing minor lacerations.
  • Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention; recommend community resources.
  • Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  • Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information; post test and examination results.
  • Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation.
  • Coordinate or manage medical and surgical emergencies when appropriate.
  • Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
  • Assist in development and compliance of clinical protocols, policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality review and improvement programs; monitor quality and outcomes of care rendered.
  • Communicate with physicians to ensure quality and timeliness of services rendered.
  • Perform other job‑related assignments and special projects as directed.
  • Participate in health education, maintain related records and statistical data, and prepare reports as needed.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of ongoing education and follow‑up programs designed to measure client outcomes.
Organizational Responsibilities
  • Attend and participate in department meetings and be accountable for all information shared.
  • Complete mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established time frames.
  • Complete annual employee health requirements within established time frames.
  • Maintain license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
  • Maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other required certifications.
  • Consistently utilize appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment and ergonomic techniques.
  • Adhere to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
  • Comply with established organization and department policies.
  • Be available to work overtime and additional shifts when required.

Education & Experience
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities acquired through a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Valid and current RN license in Indiana required.
  • Completion of a nurse practitioner program with applicable national certification required.
  • Two years of clinical nursing experience in the practice area and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner six‑month internship for new graduates or comparable experience required.
  • Master's of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
