Goodwill Industries of Michiana is hiring a Textile Sales Associate. This position involves receiving, sorting, pricing, tagging, and stocking donations to support a fast‑paced retail environment.
Job ObjectiveTo receive, sort, price, tag, and stock donations, keeping the flow of donations moving quickly from drive‑thru to the sales floor, and to generally aid in the smooth operation of a fast‑paced retail store.

- Sort, price, and tag donated textiles at a minimum rate of 80 pieces per hour (PPH), maintaining quality standards.
- Retrieve Textile Production Sheet at the beginning of each shift and turn it in upon completion.
- Transport carts containing items to be processed.
- Process donations promptly.
- Dispose of trash into designated True Trash receptacles as needed.
- Organize racks for efficient stocking.
- Record daily PPH for tracking purposes.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Training Level: Below 80 PPH – Starting rate at $11 per hour. Four weeks to reach 80 PPH goal; coaching provided if goal not met. After eight weeks, if goal not met and no qualifying open positions, termination may be considered.
- Level 2: 80–90 PPH – Increase to $15 per hour upon first reaching 80 PPH.
- Level 3 (High Performers): 91–110 PPH – Increase to $16 per hour (requires a 3‑week average of at least 91).
- Level 4: 111+ PPH – Increase to $17 per hour (requires a 3‑week average of at least 111).
- Once a high performer level is reached, maintain PPH; otherwise a 3‑week improvement period applies before progressive discipline.
- Adherence to standard retail practices and dress code.
- Familiarity with current clothing, shoe styles, furniture, toys, brand names, etc.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
- Communication skills with public and co‑workers.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules.
- Physical ability: frequent bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching, kneeling, repetitive foot use, neck twisting or static motion, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use light industrial equipment: tagging gun, pallet jack, compactor (18+), etc.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Flexible availability.
