Overview

✨Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for Youth Mentor at Woodford Group Home in Mishawaka, Indiana✨

Woodford Home is located on 27th Street off Mishawaka Ave. in South Bend, Indiana. It is situated close to public transportation, a public library and a public university. The Woodford Home serves male youth with a history of delinquent behaviors, mild mental health issues, abuse, neglect and trauma needs who are transitioning back to the community from a residential placement. Woodford Home is licensed by the Indiana Department of Child Services as a Child Caring Institution (CCI) serving up to 15 male youth between the ages of 14-21.

It is operated by Rite of Passage, Inc.

Pay: starting at $16/hour.

What you will do

Youth Mentors provide safety and around-the-clock in-person supervision of youth at a secure residential facility. In this role, you will provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and skill development. Youth Services Workers provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs; monitor and document behaviors and activities; and participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities.

Youth Services Workers collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical and TB test
  • Pass a search of the Child Abuse Central Registry
Schedule

Looking to fill a 2nd shift 2p-10p position. Weekends will be a must. Schedule of Tuesday thru Saturday.
